Internet Marketing Ninjas’ Google Keyword Suggest Tool

In just a few short years, Google Suggest (introduced in 2007) has changed the way we use Google Search. Its algorithm takes the words we type and offers related keyword suggestions.  Usually, it presents three to five keyword suggestions, but sometimes it can go up to ten. Clicking on any of the keywords in the auto-fill list takes the user directly to the search results page. Thanks to this system very similar to autocomplete, users benefit from a simple and fast experience. If you are an article creator, this feature of Google Suggest can be used to your advantage. Still, while it gives you fresh ideas for new articles, just manually copying keywords from the Google suggestion box can be annoying and time-consuming.  tool Google Keyword Suggest Internet Marketing Ninjas’ In this description, you will understand the usefulness and the mode of operation of this tool.

How does the Google Suggest tool work?

When a Google user types letters into the search engine’s search box, the data is immediately sent to Google’s servers, which anticipate the request. The suggestions provided will be the most commonly used terms related to the keyword entered by the user.  This function allows a faster loading of the page because it is based on the Ajax technology which only requires the refreshing of certain contents instead of reloading everything. Google uses various factors to evaluate a user’s search behavior and provide suggestions for similar search queries.  For example, if the term “school bag” is used frequently in the search bar, a query starting with the keyword “school bag” is likely to be completed by several other expressions. Suggestions offered can be influenced by a range of factors, including:
  • Search frequency: The more frequently a word is typed into Google, the more likely it is to appear at the top of Google’s suggestion list. Otherwise, the number of times a particular keyword combination or phrase is searched.
  • User’s search history: Google may use a user’s previous searches as a basis for suggestions, particularly if the user is logged in with their Google Account.
  • Location : Suggestions are modified based on the user’s location. If search engine algorithms weigh more heavily on local results, some low-volume search terms will appear at the top of the search results page.
  • When a search phrase relates to something trending or new, it appears more frequently in the suggested results.
However, this super effective tool has its limits. Indeed, there are rules that Google sets in relation to certain themes such as copyright, violence, etc. Not all words related to these themes are included in the suggestions. In some cases, this may have some disadvantages, especially for ambiguous terms. Still in the sense of disadvantages, the Google Suggest autocomplete function can have unfortunate side effects, especially on the privacy of public figures.  In 2012, Bettina Wulff, wife of the former German president, sued Google because its search suggestions associated her name with “prostitute” or “escort”. Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict this collateral damage, because it is totally influenced by the searches carried out by Internet users.

What are the benefits of using Google Suggest for keyword research?

Along with making searching faster and more efficient, Google Suggest has many other benefits that users may not be aware of. For example, Google states this on its website: Auto-Entry predictions are generated automatically by an algorithm without any human intervention, based on a number of objective criteria, including how often users previous searchers have searched for a term. This tool is a great source of new, trending keyword ideas, especially because it’s fully automated and doesn’t require human intervention. Sometimes when a topic starts gaining popularity on Google, it starts showing up in the auto-suggest even before it shows up in the Trending Searches section of Google Trends.
